Things I love
Diving, reading, playing music, films and hockey.
My creative approach centers on evoking emotion. I believe storytelling, combined with an understanding of the senses, plays a vital role in creating memorable, inclusive experiences.
Having moved countries and adapted to a new language, I’ve come to see expression as a universal form of communication. I’m particularly fascinated by the relationship between emotion and the senses, and how one can be translated into the other. I seek to understand the source of emotion—its truth and nature.
By leaving room for personal interpretation and fostering curiosity, I hope to encourage ownership of the experience. This allows every person to connect in their own way, making each interaction unique and, in some way, infite.
My role
From the initial client meeting and concept brainstorming to fabrication and installation, I am involved in every stage of the process.
After meeting with the client and stakeholders, and before diving into design, I begin by writing—pages of ideas until I land on a concept I think has potential. From there, I alternate between sketching and CAD. Sketching offers a flexibility that lets me explore a wider range of options before committing to a finalized design.
In essence, I’m engaged in everything from strategy development and briefing to client site visits, scheduling, assisting with quotes, visiting suppliers, collaborating with engineers on technical drawings, overseeing production and installation, and ensuring quality control.
In my role, I create concept packs with 3D renderings, detailed drawing sets for fabrication, joinery schedules, style guides, and interpretive graphic designs. This includes graphic proofs, print-ready files, and graphic schedules, among other responsibilities. Although my title is ‘Exhibition Designer,’ my diverse background and skill set allow me to contribute across many areas.
